EVERY OTHER Monday Night Throughout the Summer
CLICK HERE to RSVP for Monday Aug 25th, 6:00pm Beltrami Park
The Latest: Great turnout last time! You guys sure love those weiners! This week: maybe even relish... The Deal: Come on out and play with us! Anyone's welcome, no pressure, no skill required. Just a desire to play some fun volleyball, and to eat some good grillins. We'll play ball until it gets dark (or the bugs kill us), at a beginner or intermediate level, depending on who shows. Invite anyone you like, but try to let me know ahead of time who's coming so I can have food for everyone. I'll be sending emails to remind everyone and to see if we have enough people all the time, and to coerce people into bringing stuff. Updates can be found right here all the time. Monday 7-14-08 Well, we were kicked off the court by leagues. Then we were kicked out of the park by an elementary soccer team. We pretty much rank negative one on the important-meter. Le Boo. Beltrami Park for the rest of the summer!!! Monday 6-25-07 We had to assert our dominance over the court this week.
Which ended up meaning we just let other peeps play with us.
Monday 6-18-07 Dr. Montplaisir was kind enough to put together this...
thing. It's like reliving the whole VolleyGrill in 45 seconds!
Monday 6-11-07 One nothing tree after the first game of the night - we
had to recuit the help of... pretty much everyone at the park to get
our ball down.
Monday 6-4-07 Rockin' new court! The league playing on the courts next
to us are going to want to murder us by the time we get done hitting
balls into their games this season.
Monday 7-31-06 Leave it to Beth to show up for once and just injure herself
right away. And where's that little dog? Monday 7-24-06 Is it just me or is it a million zillion degrees out here?
Oh, it's just me.
Monday 7-17-06 All shall refrain from comment about that one picture.
Quiet, all of you!!! Monday 7-3-06 ESPN8 was nice enough to come by this week and set up
a great scaffold for us to take some shot from, and also to allow us
to get down our very first ball-stuck-in-a-tree of the season. Thanks,
The Ocho!
Monday 6-26-06 A prehistoric tomb lined with orange soda cans was unearthed
this week. Scientists quench their thirst and celebrate with some volleyball.
Dr. Larrabee field tested a new Anterior-Cranial Trajectory Alteration
theory - it proved very promising. Monday 6-19-06 Setting off car alarms and running around in circles.
What kind of activity is this, anyway??
Monday 6-12-06 There were so many people at VolleyGrill this week, we
had to take a family reuntion-style picture. Remember when Cousin Scuba
found that rusty old pliers in the sand? He's been using it for a toothpick.
Monday 6-5-06 Mother Nature dare not threaten VolleyGrill!! Also known
as: we totally lucked out and didn't get soaked. My car has been hit
by a volleyball 372 times so far this summer.
Monday 5-29-06 A very "elite" group. The SAAB can apparently
hold a grill and two bear cubs.
Monday 5-22-06 Look at all the new friends we all made over the winter!
Good to be back in the sand!! Monday 8-22 Good crowd! A little fall-ish this week, but we'll try
to ignore it. Remember, it will undoubtedly be at least 115F next week,
according to the Farmer's Almanac.....
Monday 8-15 It's awesome to see everyone coming out for this week
after week! What a great summer for VB it's been!!!
Monday 8-1 It's not so much the heat as it is da gosh darn humidity!
Monday 7-18 Another successful night! After defeating count em TWO
Self-Checkout machines at Home Depot and Rainbow, I finally made it
to the court in time to dominate with my huge guns.
Monday 7-11 Big crowd last week! We had a ton of people show up to
give "Can You Dig It?" a run for their money. The team got
all warmed up and created a fool proof strategy, just in time to lose
the championship in the first round on Wednesday! Ah, well. We all had
fun and got our fill of sand-in-your-face action and sand-in-your-brat
action.
Monday 6-27 We got another case of "The Mondays" this week. The weather held out until just after we got the net up. Then five of us huddled under a big oak tree in a monsoon for a while. It's the wettest I've been so far this summer.
Monday 6-20 Things went well after the hurricane subsided. The new
court was cool, but Dan lost his keys.
Monday 6-13 Well, the weather sucked. We managed to get a court, only because it was going to thunderstorm, and everyone else is a baby. So we played half a game, then decided to dodge the lightning and went to Amandas for wine, then Chipotle for comfort food. No pics this time, my sister has my camera in Hawaii (must be rough). Monday 6-6 We had a blast this Monday! About 12 people we knew, plus
a few new friends. Here's pics:
